Ensure your products meet the relevant regulations and protect customers from potential harm with chemical testing and analysis services from SIGMA TEST & RESEARCH CENTRE (STRC).
Consumer goods are subject to a multitude of legal regulations, standards and certifications as well as NGO (Non-governmental Organisation) requirements going beyond even the legal scope. We have the expertise and technical resources to help you comply with international regulations, your technical specifications and NGO requirements.
Chemical testing by STRC laboratory includes chemical analysis, quality control testing, troubleshooting, advanced research, and trace and ultra-trace level chemical analysis. Additional chemical testing supports formulation and deformulation of projects.
STRC chemical test lab is well equipped for detecting and identifying chemical trace unknowns and contamination, and helps ensure product and material quality control.
The chemical labs are staffed by chemists with years of industry experience, and equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation. The chemical test laboratories work with clients on a wide range of projects, testing diverse chemicals and materials.
Chemical Testing and Analysis
Chemical testing capabilities include advanced trace chemical analysis, diverse analytical capabilities and identification of chemicals composition, unknown materials and chemical contamination.
The chemical analysis labs provide advanced research and testing expertise in accordance to – IS, ASTM, DIN, EN and other recognized industry standards

Chemical Trace Analysis
STRC laboratory detect and measure trace amounts of chemicals in products and materials, low trace and ultra-trace levels. Using state-of-the-art instrumentation, the laboratories are capable of trace chemical analysis into minimum detection in the parts per million (ppm), parts per billion (ppb) and parts per trillion (ppt) level ranges, depending upon sample matrices and analytical techniques.
REACH Testing Services
We offer physico-chemical, toxicological, environmental fate, eco-toxicological and residues testing and analysis services to help your business successfully navigate the complex REACH testing requirements.
REACH requires manufacturers and importers gather information on the properties of their chemical substances. This will enable safe handling and the registration of chemical information in a central database managed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Submission of data on chemical properties, in the form of a technical dossier , is a mandatory part of the REACH Registration process. Gaps in information to complete a dossier may require REACH laboratory testing.
STRC is a leading international provider of REACH certificate services, with a proven track record in providing testing data for regulatory submissions and chemical registrations for a wide range of industries. We offer manufacturers, importers and users of chemicals cost-effective testing for REACH compliance.

MSDS Testing Services
STRC, a global leader in regulatory support, product conversion, product assessments, and testing, prepares new and updates existing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS – now known as SDS) to REACH (Regulation 2006/1907/EC), CLP (Regulation 2008/1272/EC) and Globally Harmonized System (GHS) standards.
RoHS Testing Services
The company has complete in-house facility to execute various jobs related to RoHS. STRC offers RoHS testing services for restricted substances in electrical equipment and electronic products.
RoHS is often referred to as the lead-free directive, but it restricts the use of the following six substances:
- Hexavalent chromium (chromium xxx or Cr6+)
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
The maximum concentrations are 0.1% or 1000 ppm (except for cadmium, which is limited to 0.01% or 100 ppm) by weight of homogeneous material. This means that the limits do not apply to the weight of the finished product, or even to a component, but to any single substance that component (theoretically) be separated mechanically - for example, the sheath on a cable or the tinning on a component lead.
STRC provides RoHS compliance product and material testing services which include standard testing for the EU RoHS Directive requirements.
STRC’s RoHS testing methods include: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC-MS, GC-ECD, FTIR, UV-vis, and other RoHS testing methods.
Oils Testing and Analysis Services (Essential Oils)
STRC has complete in-house facility to execute various jobs related to wide range of oils. The types of oils tested include crude oil, lubricants, vegetable and animal oils, essential oils, synthetic oils and more. The testing is carried out as per recognized industry standards such as ASTM, IP and AOAC.
In India, the labelling of essential oils as therapeutic is up to the manufacturer as there are no labelling regulations or standards for essential oils. Any oil whether adulterated or not, can say on the label that the oils are 100% pure and therapeutic. A good way to be certain that you are purchasing a therapeutic grade essential oil is to purchase ISO certified products.
