The NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories), which operates under the auspices of the Quality Council of India, is an accreditation body that is compliant with ISO 17011 and internationally recognized for the authorization of testing and calibration laboratories in India. The National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) evaluates laboratories across India on a regular basis to determine their service quality and uniformity in test outcomes.

The National Accreditation Board for Laboratory Accreditation (NABL) has recognized over 5000 testing and calibration facilities in India. The National Accreditation Board for Laboratory Accreditation also performs surprise monitoring for recognized laboratories on a regular basis. The accreditation obtained from the NABL is valid in all of the world’s major economies and is accepted by all Indian authorities on a national level.

NABL ( National Accreditation Board for Laboratory Accreditation ) functions under QCI ( Quality Council of India), founded in 1996 by a Cabinet resolution following meetings with the Inter-ministerial Task Force, Committee of Secretaries, and Government of India on the recommendations of the EU Expert Mission. As a result, QCI was established as a private-public partnership (PPP) with the support of the Government of India and Indian industry, represented by the three leading industry associations (ASSOCHAM), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), as an independent autonomous organization (FICCI).

In accordance with the Societies Registration Act of 1860, QCI has been granted non-profit status. There is now a nodal point in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, which is responsible for all aspects of quality and QCI.

A method for third-party evaluation of products, services, and procedures has been devised by QCI. It is crucial at the national level in propagating, adopting, and adhere to quality standards in all important areas of activity, such as education, healthcare, environmental protection, governance, social sectors, infrastructure, and other organized activities that have a significant bearing on improving the quality of life and well-being of Indian citizens.
